NASA scientists and astronomers around the world are on high alert as a massive coronal mass ejection (CME) from the Sun is projected to intersect with the trajectory of the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, sparking what could be one of the most critical observation events in modern space science.
The announcement came early this morning from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, where mission scientists confirmed that the solar storm, launched from an intense active region on the Sun’s surface, is on a near-direct collision course with the mysterious comet-like object that has fascinated astronomers since its first detection.
